Our Mission: Students Serving Students

Students of Georgetown, Inc. (the Corp), a non-profit corporation, was founded on March 6, 1972 with the goal of providing options to students with low-cost goods and services.

Now in its fourth decade of service, Students of Georgetown, Inc. operates 8 services— Vital Vittles, Uncommon Grounds, More Uncommon Grounds, MovieMayhem.org, the Book Co-op, Student Storage, Hoya Snaxa and The Midnight Mug —and maintains Human Resources, Marketing, Information Technology and Accounting departments. Today, the Corp has evolved into a multi-million dollar business and has grown into the largest student-owned and student-operated corporation in America, with a staff of nearly 200 students.

In addition to the services each individual store is able to provide, the Corp supports the Georgetown community through many donations to student groups and clubs throughout the year. The Corp formed a partnership with H.O.P.E. (Hoya Outreach Programs and Education) and GU Habitat for Humanity supporting both groups in their service to the community. Throughout its years of service, the Corp’s philosophy has remained simple: we are students serving students. After 30 years as members of the Georgetown community, we are still going strong, continually serving fellow students and enriching the community. Thank you Georgetown!
