Boxes in the Inflation Report

Each Inflation Report contains a number of boxes. ”Recent developments in inflation” features in every Inflation Report and includes an in-depth analysis of how different measures of inflation have developed. The first Inflation Report each year contains the box “Material for assessing monetary policy”, which looks back on the inflation outcomes in the previous year and compiles information that can be used to assess whether monetary policy has been well balanced. The other boxes aim to illustrate issues that were considered to be notably difficult or interesting. For example, by studying all the boxes about the exchange rate you can get an idea of how the Riksbank arrives at exchange rate forecasts and of what its views are, past and present, on the exchange rate's impact on inflation.
