Security Notice
American Embassy Tbilisi
October 19, 2004
The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MOIA) has established
a new police emergency hotline. To contact police in an emergency,
simply dial “022” from your landline or from your cell phone. You
will be connected to a police dispatcher who will send patrol police
to your location to assist you.
This service is currently limited to the city of Tbilisi and will
provide police response only. However, in the near future, MOIA
is planning to expand this service countrywide and to include fire
and ambulance response.
Please note, however, if you use this hotline, the police
dispatchers speak Georgian and Russian only.
