Approximately seventy-five regional inorganic chemists converged on Georgetown for the Mid-Atlantic Seaboard Inorganic Symposium (MASIS). This symposium brought together research groups working on aspects of synthetic inorganic chemistry, very broadly defined, from regional universities including the University of Delaware, University of Maryland - College Park, University of Maryland - Baltimore, Johns Hopkins University, Howard University, George Washington University, and Georgetown University. Sixteen talks were held during the day, with over thirty posters presented at a poster session deliciously catered with barbeque. Georgetown’s Department of Chemistry supported this event.
