Saif-Al-Islam: LD104 Bilion Worth of Projects in a Year, Calls for Independent Media

Speaking to a huge youth rally in the city of Benghazi on 20 August 2007, Saif Al-Islam Al Qathafi said the country signed LD104 billion worth of projects in housing, education, health and services sectors. He also called for independent media in Libya to fight corruption.

Speaking to a huge youth rally in the city of Benghazi on 20 august 2007, Saif Al-Islam AL-Qathafi said the country have already signed LD 140 billion worth of project in housing, education, health and services sectors.

Saif praised the great Man-Made River which he said it has been gift from the leader of revolution to the whole Libyan people.
He also warned that that those who may think of causing harm to Libyan and it's stability.
" those who came to kill us and threaten our security by their airplanes such as the American pilot will have death as their fate, Saif stated adding that those who do not want good for the Libyan people or Muammar AL-Qathafi "can drink from the sea".

Saif told over 40,000 youths who gathered from all over Libya that the direct democratic system, People's Authority, may have faced some problems during application as a result of the influence of the tribe and tribal loyalties in the political process.
These problem should be solved through debate.

He also warned that there are four red lines that people must be aware of.
Saif called for establishing a constitution that is abided by all. "our next challenge is to set up a series of laws ,which we can call constitution or social contract or something else.
The important thing is to have a contract that will organized the lives of Libyan," he said .

Saif also said that "there are red lines that we must reach agreement on," he said, quoting in order: " Islam and application of sharia low, security and stability in Libya, unity of the national territory, and Muammar AL-Qathafi."

The lows should guarantee the independence of the Libyan central bank, the high court, the media and civil society, Saif AL-Islam added.

Saif also said that there is a need to widen the political dialogue beyond the basic People's Congresses through the media and other venues.

He also called for strengthening the power of the Secretary of the General People's Committee (prime minister) so that he could choose his cabinet members.

We appreciate brother Saif ulIslam to establish free media -- no doubt nowadays media is playing vital role for good governess and government, we pary for his success in this field.
