THE 50 BEST FILMS OF ALL TIME

As selected by Bosley Crowther, the well known film critic of the New York Times. We're pleased to present, for the first time anywhere, the best films ever made as selected by "the dean of American film critics." His reviews in the N.Y. Times for 30 years, won him the first "Critic's Award" from the Screen Directors Guild. No matter how distinguished the critic, as soon as you say "these are the best, " you're asking for an argument ... especially since this list was published in 1967. There have been 1 or 2 good movies made since then which therefore could not be on Mr. Crowther's list.
