Daft.ie Now Ireland’s Busiest Certified Property Site

Independent Audit shows highest internet traffic for Daft.ie

Dublin, July 18th 2006Daft.ie, Ireland’s property website, today announced the results of an independent audit of its internet traffic. The report by ABC ELECTRONIC confirms that Daft.ie received requests for over 27 million pages of information (Page Impressions) in May 2006, the largest ABC ELECTRONIC audited figure for any Irish website to date. These figures make Daft.ie Ireland’s busiest certified website at 17th July 2006, ahead of other well-known sites including; Eircom (22 million, January 06), RTE (22 million, May 06) and MyHome.ie (18 million, October 05). For more information see www.abce-ireland.ie.

Originally founded in 1997 to service the Irish rental market, Daft.ie has successfully positioned itself as Ireland’s leading property site. Today it operates in the residential, commercial and overseas property markets through a network of over 1000 estate agents* and 40,000 landlords*.

Commenting on the ABC ELECTRONIC figures, Eamonn Fallon, Director Daft.ie said, “We’re delighted with the results. Daft.ie is now the largest and the busiest property website in Ireland. These figures are even more impressive when you consider the population of Ireland. For example, Daft.ie delivers twice as many Page Impressions per head of population than the biggest on-line property site in the UK. This is a good indication of how comfortable Irish people have become using the internet to buy, sell and rent property on-line. We also believe our success has been based on our ability to grow with our original audience. Whereas once we were the first port of call for students looking for a room to rent, almost ten years on we now help them buy a new home, rent an office or purchase a property abroad”.

According to Richard Foan, Managing Director, ABC ELECTRONIC: "It is highly encouraging that Daft.ie is delivering both comparability and transparency by committing to having its site traffic figures independently verified to industry agreed standards. Advertisers, Estate Agents and Landlords can now use the site with confidence in the certified traffic figures”.

Daft.ie has won numerous awards for its innovative approach and usability. The next major enhancement to the site will be available in the Autumn and will allow users to search for property in a more interactive and intuitive way.
