About Us and Our Group

Successful airports – serving the whole community

Bournemouth Airport
Bournemouth Airport is a key national and international gateway to Southern England, connecting over 900,000 passengers to over 60 destinations every year.

With around 125 people directly employed on-site and regular scheduled and charter services operated by some of Europe’s leading airlines, our growth and success are shared by our whole community.

On current projections, around 3 million passengers will be travelling through Bournemouth Airport every year by 2014/15.  The airport’s growth is a massive opportunity; crucial to the prosperity of our whole region. But that growth must be sustainable. Our Master Plan to 2030 describes how best to manage the positive and negative impact of growth.

Manchester Airports Group

Manchester Airports Group (MAG) is the country’s largest British-owned airport operator. Our four airports - Manchester, East Midlands, Humberside and Bournemouth – currently serve a total of almost 28 million passengers every year.

The group also runs thriving businesses in property development and management, baggage handling, car parking, airport security, fire fighting, engineering and motor transport.

MAG is publicly owned by the ten local authorities of Greater Manchester and is privately managed on their behalf.

Regional airports. National impact.
MAG is more than just a regional success story. As the largest British-owned airport operator, we play a major role in UK aviation.  Nearly 28 million passengers used our airports in 2005, contributing £3.2 billion to the UK economy and supporting over 130,000 jobs. According to independent analysis, our businesses could grow still further to generate £6.3 billion in value and support 260,000 jobs by 2015.
