Collusion

Collusion, agreement between two or more persons to defraud persons or institutions of their legal rights, or to obtain an object forbidden by law. All acts effected by this means are considered void. A common example is insurance fraud, in which an accident is arranged intentionally to receive cash benefits. To discourage this kind of collusion, insurance companies no longer pay benefits to a spouse injured during a car accident involving the other spouse.
