CPB Presents Unity Through Music

If you enjoy rock, hip-hop music, face painting, and henna art, (and who doesn’t?) then OWU’s Unity Through Music soiree is the place to be this Friday night in the Hamilton-Williams Campus Center's atrium and Benes Rooms.

Planned by a core group of the Campus Programming Board (CPB) and CPB advisor Julia Brooker ’05, this year’s event starts at 10 p.m. and features two groups — the all-female rock group, Raining Jane, and Black Violin, a hip-hop fusion band.

Brooker, a resident life coordinator in Hayes Hall and the small living units, says volunteers are still needed (free t-shirts and admission are the bonuses) for this first official event of the academic year.

“Mardi Gras face painting, rice jewelry making and henna art will add some extra glitz to the night,” says Brooker, noting that the proceeds of the event — just $3 per person at the door — will be donated to a local charity.

“It’s a great way to bring everyone together in a fun way.”
