DRACHMA BANKNOTES and COINS
The drachma has been the Greek national currency from 1833 to 2001. On 1 January 2001 the drachma has been replaced by the euro, initially
in scriptural form only. Following the introduction of euro banknotes and coins on 1 January 2002, drachma notes and coins ceased to be legal
tender on 28 February 2002. The last drachma-denominated notes and coins are displayed in this section.
