The Executive Director will be responsible to the board for the strategic development, finances and management of the Africa Media Initiative (AMI). AMI has been created to foster a vibrant, sustainable independent media that supports Africa's progress towards an information society, strengthens critical and pluralistic voices on the continent and produces and distributes high-quality African content.
The postholder will need to work establish excellent working relationships with the multinational board and a wide range of senior figures within the donor community and within the media world in Africa.

The successful applicant will support the training manager in planning and implementing the project training activities. S/he will provided support for the recruitment of trainees, monitor their progress and support their learning; deploy trainers and mentors as necessary and help them to deliver training using appropriate techniques and resources.
