Alsanane’s Goal Decides it for Al-Ittihad in CAF Champions League
LIBYA’s champions Al-Ittihad embarked on their challenge in the CAF Champions League with a well deserved, but hard earned 1-0 victory over Angola’s Primero Agosto in their second round, first leg tie at the June 11 Stadium in Tripoli. But their slender lead leaves doubts as to their chances to progress even further in the competition when the return ties are played next week.

Defending champions Al-Ittihad were surprisingly held to a 1-1 draw at home by mid-table team Al-Madina to see their lead at the top cut down to only two points (50-48) from their main rivals Al-Ahli of Tripoli, who were 1-0 away victors at Al-Jazeera.
