Tripoli-- Speaking to a large crowd gathered to celebrate the 38th anniversary of the expelling of American military bases, the Leader of the Revolution Muammar Al-Qathafi said it was the resolve of the young revolutionary officers and their willingness to die for their homeland that led the American government to close its military bases and hand them to Libya before the deadline.

Harvesting barley by hand is not an easy job, especially if the harvester is a five months pregnant woman. I asked this young and pretty mother of three boys who was always fussy about keeping her skin soft and unblemished by the sun, why? Why was she undertaking such a drastic step and throwing herself into the arms of the harsh elements: scorching winds and blistering sun?She replied that she and her sisters in law had decided last year that they would sow and harvest their own barley crop together, instead of buying the grain from the market.
