SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

– Submissions must be original works that have not been published elsewhere. When you submit a post to ThinkProgress, please allow us a four (4) hour window to review your work and refrain from posting it elsewhere. If we accept your work for publication, it must be exclusive to ThinkProgress at the time of publication.
– Quotes and facts should be hyperlinked to their source. Pictures, charts, and other graphics must be embedded in the post submission. If your post requires video and you are unable to provide that video content in your post, we may be able to obtain it for you. Let us know what was said, on what channel, and at what time.
– Prior to submitting a post for consideration, you must read and agree to the Blog Terms of Use agreement.
– If we wish to publish your post, we will contact you as soon as possible. We may suggest revisions or edits for you to make prior to publication. We may also have questions for you to answer prior to posting.
– PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT US to ask if we have received your post. If you have not received a response from us within four hours, feel free to pursue other publishing options.
– Once your post is published on ThinkProgress, we will send you a $50 check. Please allow six (6) weeks for processing and delivery. In order to receive compensation for your post, you must have participated and been selected for publication through the Blog Fellows Program. (Submissions emailed directly to us will be ineligible for compensation.)
– Members of the ThinkProgress team (all staff and interns listed here) are not entitled to publish your submissions under any other name without offering you compensation. If a ThinkProgress posting is published subsequent to your submission that you believe was substantially derived from your submission, please let us know and if we agree, you will be entitled to compensation. If your post submissions were independently conceived by a member of the ThinkProgress team, you will not be entitled to any compensation.
– Don’t be too discouraged if your submission is not published. Try again. ThinkProgress publishes large volumes of content every day, so we’re always looking for new ideas.
– A Blog Fellowship will be offered to a limited number of individuals whom ThinkProgress believes exhibit a demonstrated record of submitting quality posts on a frequent basis. The quality and frequency of postings will be assessed by the ThinkProgress team and are subject to the team’s full discretion.
– Blog Fellows will serve six-month terms, earn a monetary stipend of $3,000, and receive paid travel to Washington D.C. for a weekend of training at the Center for American Progress.
