We are happy to grant permission for the re-publication of our material in both print and electronic format subject to a copyright fee. If you would like permission to reproduce an article or chart from The Economist Newspaper please contact the relevant Rights and Syndication Department in writing with the following details:

  • The exact title of the article or chart and the issue date that it appeared in The Economist

  • Where you intend to reproduce this material (e.g. in a newsletter, textbook or website)

  • The circulation or print run of your publication

Ordering reprints of Economist articles

The Economist can supply customised reprints of individual articles to suit your needs. These are ideal for presentations or as part of a press pack.

Reprints are usually printed on 115gsm Gloss Art paper in two or four colour and will bear The Economist logo as standard. We are also happy to add your company logo and discuss any additional requirements that you may have.

Our minimum order quantity is 500 and most orders can be completed within two weeks.

Schools, colleges and universities
The Economist has an agreement with the CLA (Copyright Licensing Agency) in UK and with the CCC (Copyright Clearance Center) in USA to issue licences to all educational institutions on our behalf. If you are requesting permission on behalf of a school, college or university, please check with your librarian to see whether your institution has a CLA or CCC licence. If so, then you do not need separate permission from The Economist.
