In conjunction with CBO’s Preliminary Analysis of the President’s Budget Request for 2009, released on March 3, 2008, the agency has updated this compilation of data on the government’s revenues, outlays, deficits, and surpluses for the period from 1968 to 2007. The figures are reported in nominal dollars and as a percentage of gross domestic product. Some of the numbers have been revised since the last time these tables were published, in The Budget and Economic Outlook: Fiscal Years 2008 to 2018 (January 2008).
