The Georgetown University men's soccer team will host its home opener this Friday at 3 p.m., at North Kehoe Field against Davidson College. The Hoyas are currently 2-0-0 after winning the Cal State-Northridge Tournament last weekend. The Georgetown Hoyas will host the 2008 NCAA Women's Golf Preview this weekend Sept. 7-8 (Sunday-Monday) at the Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Md. Fifteen teams competing in the 54-hole tournament including teams from the ACC, Big 10, Big 12, Pac-10 and SEC. The tournament will serve as a preview for the 2009 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship that will be played at the Caves Valley Golf Club May 19-22. Read Full Release [+]

Georgetown University junior Len Coleman (Basking Ridge, N.J./Pingry School) was named the BIG EAST Conference's Defensive Player of the Week on Monday in an announcement by league officials. [+]
It's not often that a player is selected a captain when he hasn't played since the start of the 2007 season. Meet Georgetown senior men's lacrosse player Matt McBride. McBride has continued to be part of the Hoya program after concussions sidelined his playing career.
His is a story of perseverance. It is the story of a young man who came from across the country not knowing what to expect when he arrived on campus. It is the story of a lacrosse player at Georgetown who was cut the first time he tried out, but now finds himself starting at one of most the important positions in the game on a team that is ranked among the top-five teams in the country.
