All along, we believed 'justice is blind'. Apparently, it is not so any more as the conviction of Sudanese President by the International Criminal Court would indicate. Justice now seems to be very cognizant of the person charged.
The ICC could not muster enough courage to convict the former Prime Minister of Israel, Ariel Sharon whom his own countrymen held responsible for the massacre (including rape) of Palestinians in refugee camps under Israeli control.
Also, George Bush and Tony Blair who, between them, are responsible for the death of over a million innocent Iraqis and maiming and uprooting of many times that number, roam freely as 'respectable' citizens.
Perhaps the international organizations like United Nations, ICC, etc have now become secret arms of USA.
I remember George Bush once said that he sees a role for Tony Blair in the Middle East and soon after, Tony Blair became Middle East Peace Envoy, duly appointed by the quartet that includes United Nations and European Union.
Now, what credentials a mass murderer had to become a peace envoy? For some time now, George Bush has been trying to find ways to intervene in Darfur and ICC has obligingly extended a helping hand, creating just the opportunity that George Bush seems so fond of.
It is really a sad day for us all.
