Statistics Sweden (SCB) produces data about emissions and contents of a number of different discharges in Sweden such as SO2, NOX, CO2, CO, N2O, CH4 and NMVOC. The information is put tohether by SCB in collaboration  with Swedish Environmental Research Institute (IVL) and Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) within the limits of Swedish Environmental Emissions Data (SMED) at the request of Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. The data is based on several sources. The aim is - among others - to obtain a basis for an  follow-up of the goals that  Parlament and Government have decided upon for the national and international commitments and for the informaton of the public.
