| School mission | Creighton University is committed to being one of the leading Jesuit, Catholic universities in the United States. Here, students from across the nation and around the world come to study in a wide range of disciplines - with an emphasis on developing the whole person: academically, socially and spiritually. Creighton is moving forward, with $200 million in new construction and renovations over the past five years - including a new integrated science building, junior/senior town homes, a nationally recognized soccer stadium and campus mall, and a unique student living-learning center. With about 7,000 students, about 4,000 of whom are undergraduates, and more than 50 undergraduate majors and more than 20 graduate and professional programs, Creighton University combines small, personal class sizes with a wide range of opportunities for undergraduate and advanced studies. Our students leave here professionally proficient, civically engaged and ethically competent - with a global perspective and a disposition for service. It's an education that not only prepares students to succeed in their chosen fields, but one that challenges them to go out and shape a more just world. While here, our students join faculty in leading research. In 2008, Creighton was one of just eight universities to have four students nationally recognized as Goldwater Scholars. Typically, about 40 percent of our students (including early admits into professional schools) go immediately into medical, dental, pharmacy, physical or occupational therapy, graduate or law school, upon graduation - one of the highest placement rates for any university nationally. The campus has its own comfortable and safe sense of space and is only a five minute walk from downtown restaurants, music events and corporate business headquarters.
