Billing
Please note that the hospital bill and the bill from your doctor will be separate.
Have your insurance information verified upon your arrival at the hospital for
services, and provide any necessary authorizations and/or referrals at the time
of service. If the insurance information, authorizations, or referrals are not
provided at the time of service, you will be required to sign a financial responsibility
form agreeing to pay for the services not covered or denied by your insurance.
Hospital Bill
You will not receive a hospital bill until Georgetown has received
all payments from your insurance company. Your insurers will send you statements
of their payments made to the hospital. These statements also outline any amount
for which you may be responsible. Call your insurer or employer's benefits office
for details on your insurance or benefit policy coverage. If you do not have
insurance, you will be billed directly.
Doctor Bill
You will be sent separate bills from your Georgetown University Medical
Center doctors. If you have questions about a doctor's bill, please call the
office phone number listed on the bill.
If you have questions about what services are covered at Georgetown, check
with your health plan or your company's benefits office. They will have the
most detailed information about your coverage. You can also call our Office
of Managed Care at 202-444-1725 to determine if your plan is
accepted at Georgetown.
