ABOUT.COM WINS TWO WEB MARKETING ASSOCIATION WEBAWARDS
2008 Publishing Standard of Excellence and Health Care Standard of Excellence

NEW YORK, December 18, 2008 - About.com (www.about.com), one of the 15 most-visited Web sites in the United States, announced today that it has received a Publishing Standard of Excellence and Health Care Standard of Excellence award from the Web Marketing Association during its 12th annual WebAward competition.  Both awards honor outstanding achievement in Web site development.

About.com was one of more than 2,400 Web sites reviewed in over 96 industry categories for the 2008 competition.  Entries were judged on design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copywriting and ease of use.

The judges for the 2008 WebAward competition consisted of professionals from a variety of relevant disciplines of Web site development.  They included members of the media, advertising executives, top Web site designers, content providers and Webmasters.

In 2007 About.com received the Web Marketing Association’s Media Standard of Excellence Award.
