Friday January 16, 2009
The O2 is a complete phenomenon. It only opened in June 2007 (yes, 18 months ago) yet it already has the best ticket sales of any music arena in the world! The latest Pollstar arena figures show The O2 arena's year end ticket sales at nearly 2 million (1,806, 447) top the industry listings chart. The nearest competitor, the world famous Madison Square Gardens, has ticket sales of 1,161,035 – more than half a million less than The O2.

The next big development at The O2 will be the British Music Experience, a permanent, high-tech, interactive music exhibition. A combination of cutting edge audio-visual technology and the most coveted music memorabilia of all time will culminate in the creation of one of Britain's most compelling attractions.

Thursday January 15, 2009
Queen Mother's Gate was opened in 1993 by the Queen to honor the Queen Mother's 93rd birthday. It is in Hyde Park, behind Aspley House at Hyde Park Corner, connecting Park Lane and Carriage Road on Hyde Park.

The central screen (shown here) is by David Wynne and the six gates, railings and lamps are made from forged stainless steel and designed by Giusseppe Lund.

This is now part of the What You Don't Always See Photo Gallery.
