World Series of Poker Cash Academy

Saturday January 10, 2009
I am super, super psyched that I'll be attending the first-ever World Series of Poker Cash Academy in Atlantic City in a few weeks! The event, which will be held at the Harrah's on January 24th and 25th is like a super-intense poker school which "will provide poker players of all skill levels with the foundation and tools needed to become a consistent winning cash game player" in No Limit Hold’em cash games. Based on the staff, I believe it: The teachers include poker pros Mark Seif, Paul Wasicka and my old friend Alex Outhred, each of whom are exceptional players. They'll also be holding another Cash Academy event in Las Vegas on February 7th and 8th.

It's a great way to improve your skill and learn new strategies for cash games -- they also have World Series of Poker Academies throughout the year for getting better at no-limit Texas Hold'em tournaments as well, but I feel personally that I'm better at tournaments than cash games, and I haven't seen another program that looks as promising as this one. They have a session on transitioning from tournaments to cash games that I'm going to be sure to attend.
