Subzero Temperatures

Friday January 16, 2009
Subzero temperatures are down right dangerous and spreading over the USA this week. I know my family has pulled out the face warmers... and requested me making ones to match this years coats. Luckily I have a great supply of fleece scraps. Given that tonight is supposed to be minus twelve degrees, working with fleece sounds like a great way to stay warm.

Wal-Mart fabric revisited

Tuesday January 13, 2009
We had a lot of feed back in the previous blog posts about Wal-Mart fabric departments. Unfortunately those threads have gotten on in age and may not be catching the attention of the "corporate decision team" that we all want to listen and hear the value of Wal-Mart continuing to carry fabric. In order to reach the most people I have moved the place for us to sound off to the forum.
Please visit the lively Wal-Mart Fabric Situation thread on the forum and let Wal-Mart know they should continue to carry fabric and a REAL sewing department. As someone who has been in a "New Superstore" that has the new "Celebration" center... they need to wake up... the isle labeled "Sewing" is a total joke! If it doesn't have zippers, bias tape, trims and basic sewing necessities, it's not a sewing isle in my world!

Have You Ever????

Tuesday January 13, 2009
The forum thread got me thinking about how many people have mentioned a garment that they completely sewed by hand. I can't imagine the patience involved... and envy anyone who has that kind of patience! So just for fun....

Necessity the mother of invention?

I love this forum thread! We've all been in a pinch at one time or another and "made do" or made up" something to get something done in a hurry. Read, learn and share from others experiences.
