Want a Blessing from the Pope?

Thursday January 15, 2009
Catholics who were married in the Church and have been married two months or less can head to the Vatican just outside of Rome, Italy, for the Pope's general papal audience on Wednesdays. There's a special section for Catholic newlyweds who'd like to have their union blessed. Some couples get dressed up in their wedding attire again for the blessing. That's just what newlyweds Joseph and Jaclyn DiNardo recently did when they were blessed by Pope Benedict XVI just before starting their honeymoon throughout Italy.

Obama Mother-In-Law Moves into the White House

To help the Obama girls adjust to life in the White House, President-elect Barack Obama's mother-in-law Marian Robinson will be moving into the White House with the first family. Word is that Robinson is a rather independent woman who will not give up her home in Chicago and that she does not like a lot of fuss, according to the Chicago Tribune. The Today Show reported this morning that Robinson is most concerned with her daughter Michelle and President Obama's ability to be good parents, and she works hard to support them without meddling in their affairs.

Certainly, living all together under one roof -- even if the roof is that of the White House -- will require patience, time, and some getting used to. It will probably be great for the girls to have a stable force in their lives while their father is running the country and their mom is getting into the groove as first lady. But living with the in-laws isn't always easy and requires some preparation, especially if you don't have as spacious a quarters as the Obamas. Scoop on Fertility for Young Women

Monday January 12, 2009
I just finished reading an informative article in the latest issue of Marie Claire about how women in their twenties are heading to fertility centers to make sure that they'll one day be able to get pregnant. "Fertility 101" is particularly useful for young women who want to take control of their own destiny. It covers the basics about how age influences your chances of getting pregnant, how genetics plays a part, ways to maximize your fertility, and what myths prevail. There is a even a sidebar on where you can find help.
