Christmas with a Japanese Twist

Most of Japan's populace have no idea that the event has any religious meaning whatsoever... which makes sense since less than 1% of them are Christian. December 25 is not recognized or celebrated as a national holiday and is considered just another work day. So why is Christmas such a big hit in Japan?
Well, it's an excuse to indulge in seasonal cakes, to go out for a night on the town with your loved one, and to do a little extra shopping.
