If your articles' titles are displayed incorrectly in Google News, there may be few reasons:

• Our automated system looks at each article's source code and extracts a title from the <title> tag. If there's no title tag, or if the exact title isn't included in the tag, our system may "guess" at an appropriate title. Setting the <title> tag on the HTML page to the title of the article should increase the likelihood that we'll extract the correct title.
• If the article title doesn't appear in other parts of the source code, we may not be able to crawl it. To fix this problem you should:
  1. Make sure the article title is displayed prominently above the text of the article, such as between <h1> tags, and that no part of it is a hyperlink.
  2. Ensure that the title is not too long or too short. Currently, a title must be between two and 22 words for it to be indexed properly.
• Make sure that on individual article pages, your headlines are not hyperlinked. This will increase the likelihood that our crawler will extract the title correctly.

Please keep in mind that if the title suggests that the article isn't news-related, we may not be able to include it in Google News.
