February 19 & 20, 2009 Basics of Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) Operations
Do you need to understand the basics of biological nutrient removal? Come join us at the Edmonton Waste Management Centre of Excellence and learn about the operating and design protocols necessary for successful removal of nitrogen and phosphorus from wastewater. The course will be presented by Dr. Bill Oldham, who has been actively involved in design, start-up, and operator training at around 30 BNR plants in Canada, the United States, Europe, and Australia over the last 30 years.

January 15, 2009 Greenhouse Gas Regulations and Quantification: Emerging Solid Waste and Wastewater Perspectives This seminar will provide attendees with an update on the Alberta GHG regulation and offset system for the solid waste and wastewater sectors. Other presentations will focus on how industry is adjusting to existing and emerging regulations, and will showcase GHG projects and emerging GHG emission quantification technologies from wastewater treatment plants, landfills, and composting facilities.
