Georgetown University Registrar | Graduate Registration Instructions Registration for Spring 2009 Graduate | Undergraduate

The Office of the University Registrar is responsible for enabling students to register for courses in a timely and efficient way. All graduate students at Georgetown should pre-register online through Access+ and may use the following resources to aid their decision-making:

Registration Timetable for Spring 2009
Pre-Registration Nov. 3 - Nov. 14 Pre-Registration with Access+ begins at 12:01AM. Engage in a conversation with your advisor to plan the semester and to discuss your degree plan. Review your academic and biographic information in Access+ and review your record for financial, immunization, immigration, or other blocks. Students with a registration block cleared after Nov. 14. Students enrolled in Thesis Research will be automatically pre-registered for Thesis Research unless intent to graduate or request for leave is initiated. If permission is required for a course, please use this form.
  Nov. 15 Deadline for graduate students to submit schedule with Access+ to your advisor. If your advisor does not use Access+ to Pre-Register, you will need to submit a Confirmation of Advisement form.
Pre-Registration Results Dec. 4 Pre-Registration Results with Access+ become available. Mailed student bills will include a student schedule. If you are not accepted for the number of classes you requested, please continue to Completion.
Pre-Registration Completion Dec. 8 & Dec. 9 Pre-Registration Completion begins with Access+. If you have difficulty or don't use Access+, come to Pre-Register in-person at the Office of the University Registrar on Dec. 8 - 9. Confirmation of Advisement from advisor is required to initiate registration.
Payment Jan. 5 Deadline for bill pay or deferment for all students. Late payment fees will be applied after Jan. 7 by the Office of Student Accounts.
Registration Jan. 7 Online registration with Access+ begins at times indicated on the registration schedule for Jan. 7. See schedule (days linked at left) for location and times. Engage in a conversation with your advisor to plan the semester and to discuss your degree plan. All students should review your academic and biographic information in Access+ and review your record for financial, immunization, immigration, or other blocks. If permission is required for a course, please use an Add/Drop form. A late registration fee will be charged by the University Registrar after Jan. 7. Students cannot register after Jan. 16.
Add/drop Jan. 7 - Jan. 16 Add/drop with Access+ begins during your scheduled time. Completed paper forms are returned to the Office of the University Registrar during business hours.
  • Access+ services require a NetID and password. See the University Information Services Helpdesk or University Registrar if you do not have this information.
  • "Permission required" courses will generate an approval form in Access+. Graduate students must submit this form and an outline of study to their advisor for approval. Registration for tutorials require Dean's approval.
  • Students are expected to request the schedule approved by their academic advisor. Deans reserve the right to require changes if, in the Dean's judgment, the student deviates from curricular guidelines. Students must check their email regularly, if there is a scheduling change, the student will be notified.
  • Students with disabilities should contact the Office of Learning and Disability Support Services to recieve appropriate registration assistance.
