• What was your title when you first joined our Company?
• I joined as an analyst. Yes, it took hard work and luck to grow my responsibilities, but just as important, some terrific people mentored me and supported my successes along the way. Mentoring is a big part of this company's commitment to employees.
• What brought you to our Company?
• When I answered an ad for a position at The New York Times newspaper, I was delighted to meet several women in senior business management roles. It meant a lot to me that the organization had women leaders. I felt I could make a career for myself here.
• What makes working at our Company so special?
• You get the opportunity to do a variety of things. I've had different roles in different departments–like, advertising sales and circulation. And I've worked alongside all kinds of professionals with expertise in unique areas–such as process improvement, marketing services and productivity. The variety of these experiences has helped me continue to develop and enhance my strengths. So I'm not stuck in a routine; I'm learning all the time.
• What have you learned working at our Company?
• I have learned that what we stand for as a Company is central to who we are. Our Core Purpose–to enhance society by creating, collecting and distributing high quality news, information and entertainment–informs everything we do. It’s not just talk; it’s what we do every day. I don’t know of another organization that’s like The New York Times Company. I’m proud to work here.
