Makeup Artist Ingrid Grimes to do Michelle Obama's Makeup for the Inauguration

Wednesday January 14, 2009

Makeup artist Ingrid Grimes (MsIngrid) is the talented artist chosen to do Michelle Obama's makeup for the Presidential Inauguration on Tuesday January 20th. She has worked with a multitude of politicians and celebrities in the past including the Obama's, Colin Powell, Sarah Ferguson, Caroline Kennedy, Katie Couric, and many more. MsIngrid is very familiar with Mrs. Obama's style and features, since she has done Michelle's makeup in the past and has been a friend to the Obama's for the past four years. So what will the new first lady wear for the inauguration? According to Marie Claire's Australian website, she will be using Australia-based ModelCo's Colorbox Eyeshadow for her daytime look. When I get the full line of information, I will pass it along!

Golden Globes Makeup Ideas

Monday January 12, 2009

The Golden Globes took place last night, and I have to admit that it was difficult for me since I am a HUGE 24 fan and they had their season premiere last night as well. I did catch the Globes pre-show and I have to say that there seemed to be a lot of neutral lips on the red carpet last night. I guess this is a good trend for all of us that don't feel like bothering with much and can just throw on a great lip gloss and go. Don't get me wrong though, there were lots of great smokey eyes and just plain gorgeous eye makeup all together. Out of all of the looks so far, my favorite has to be Anne Hathaway's subtle eyes and beautifully toned-down red lips. The combination against her milky white skin was just beautiful. To find your own favorite and to see what the stars wore on their face at the show, check out my Golden Globes Makeup Ideas pictorial.

Longing for Spring

Tuesday January 6, 2009

I have spent my morning looking through some of the most beautiful makeup collections for Spring 2009. In the end it has made me yearn for spring and I'm ready to give winter a big kiss goodbye! Just as with every spring collection, the color palettes are light, natural, and just plain beautiful. Quite honestly I don't know which collection is the best after getting a peak of Clinique, Dior, Givenchy, Bobbi Brown, and many more. They all definitely hit on the wonder of pastels, such as pinks and peaches, with a beautiful glowing and non-made up foundation look.
