Method of Conducting Study
On June 10, 2008, Rapleaf ran a query of social network usage across publicly available social media data for 175 million people in the Rapleaf database. Of the 49.3 million people in the study, ~90% are located in the US. Rapleaf analyzed people who are on at least one social network and in which there exists age information on these individuals.

Top retailers, telcos, political organizations, hotel chains, social networks, and other consumer facing companies use Rapleaf's services to gain insight about their consumers and improve their consumers' experience.
