Inflation/CPI

In February 2009, CPI inflation (measured as the annual change in the consumer price index) stood at 0.9 per cent (1.3 per cent in January 2009).

 

The underlying inflation rate CPIX (CPI excluding households' mortgage interest expenditure and the direct effects of changes in indirect taxes and subsidies) was 1.9 per cent in February 2009 (1.7 per cent in January 2008).

 

The inflation is calculated monthly by Statistics Sweden.

 

Riksbank target: 2 per cent

The Riksbank's target is to maintain inflation at a rate of 2 per cent ±1 percentage point, when measured by CPI.
