just avoid filling in the info in their apps. Some times they offer extended services if you pay with a credit card. NEVER give them your info if you are concerned. Google would watch you using the bath room if they could. They own youtube, can see what you search, own dating sites, may have pics of your house (street view). If you're careful, it's not too bad, but if you freely give them every thing, it gets worse. Google is very information hungry and snoopy I've found.
Don't hate for privacy reasons if you have a clear choice to use it or not.
I just tried it over WiFi, and unfortunately the automatic location function put me in North America. Sorry Google, I'm really in Europe. (I still like the product.)
