Pearson Residential College

In 1987, Pearson became the fourth hall converted to a Residential College. This hall was completed and opened in 1962 and was named for the late Dr. Jay F. W. Pearson, a member of the first faculty, second president of the University, and chancellor. Until the early 1970's, Pearson College was an all women's residence hall. During the completion of Mahoney's renovation, Pearson and Mahoney were connected on the first floor.

Pearson is located at the northeast end of campus on Ponce de Leon Boulevard. This residence hall is five minutes walking distance from the University Center, Memorial Building, Merrick Building, and the Whitten Learning Center. Also, Pearson is approximately 10 minutes from the Metrorail station. Pearson shares a cafeteria with Mahoney, which is located just west of the lobby.

Pearson is set up in a suite arrangement where there are two rooms connected by a bathroom. Each co-ed floor consists of single rooms and double room suites. Pearson has approximately 750 students and staff between the seven floors. Study lounges are located on floors 4, 5, 6 and 7 with laundry facilities on floors 2 and 3. The group study room, computer lab, classrooms, reception desk, student mailboxes, vending machines, and the Masters apartments are located on the first floor.
