Lars Nyberg is Deputy Governor. He has been appointed by the Government to the Board of Finansinspektionen (the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority) and is the Riksbank's representative in the group of deputies for the G10 Ministers and Governors and in the ESCB's Banking Supervision Committee. Mr Nyberg is an associate professor in economics and has previously been Deputy CEO at Svenska Handelsbanken and Swedbank and CEO of Länsförsäkringsbolagens förening. Lars Nyberg is the Riksbank's spokesperson regarding financial stability and a safe and efficient payment system.
Lars Nyberg's term of office is six years from 1 January 2006. He was appointed to the Executive Board of the Riksbank in 1999 and has been re-elected twice.
