Technical notes

The City of Melbourne's Technical Notes (tech notes) are a reference for the design standards to be used in the City of Melbourne's public domain.  The standards include typical features of streets, parks, gardens and other public spaces, including paving, kerbs and channels, ramps and crossings, tree pits, lighting, and furniture.

The technical notes promote the use of design standards to encourage a cohesive character and strong identity for the city.

The standards have been selected and developed to respect the city's heritage, to encourage the use of established and proven practices, and to meet requirements for accessibility and sustainability.
