Tasks Privacy Notice

The Google Privacy Policy describes how we treat personal information when you use Google's products and services, including information provided when you use Tasks. In addition, the following describes our privacy practices that are specific to Tasks.


Personal information

  • Account information and settings. To use Tasks, you need a Google Account Google asks for some personal information when you create a Google Account, including your email address and a password, which is used to protect your account from unauthorized access. A Google Account allows you to access many of our services that require registration. If you already have a Google account, we may ask you for some minimal amount of information to set up your task list, such as your name, preferred default language, and time zone.
  • Usage statistics. Information displayed or clicked on in your Tasks account (including User Interface elements, ads, links) is recorded to be used as set forth below in the "Use" section. We may record information about your usage of Tasks, such as when and for how long you use the service, the frequency and size of data transfers, and the number of tasks and task lists you create.
  • Every 90 days, if not more frequently, we permanently delete usage statistics associated with your use of Tasks. We retain this information beyond 90 days in aggregate form only.

Uses

  • Google's computers process the information on your task lists to offer you the best possible service, including formatting and displaying the information to you, backing up the content of your task lists, and delivering related information (such as related links).
  • Google may send your information related to your Tasks service or other Google services.

Your choices

  • You may change all Tasks settings and preferences at any time through your Google Account.
  • You can modify and delete tasks that you have created.
  • Such deletions will take immediate effect in your account view. Residual copies of deleted tasks may take up to 30 days to be deleted from our active servers and may remain in our offline backup systems.
