Google Chrome keeps the default search engine setting from Firefox or Internet Explorer if you imported your settings during installation. If you didn't import settings, then the browser sets Google to be your default search engine. The initial bubble that appears for the address box lets you adjust your search engine options. To use a different search engine, click the Change search engine button in the bubble. This opens the 'Google Chrome Options' dialog box, where you can use the 'Default search' drop-down menu in the 'Basics' tab to choose another search engine. If you didn't import any browser settings, this drop-down menu will be empty. Learn how to add more search engine options. When you're done, click the Close button.
