Currently, you can't. Sorry =[

But, rest assured, fellow citizen, the New Tab UI is planned to be much, much more customizable "in the future" (which I rekkon' won't be that long, really).

It shall be noted that, in the Dev version of Chrome, you can actually customize it a little bit. You can edit which items you want there, by X-ing them out, and making them disappear, having the next "Most Visited" site take it's place (btw, you can easily go back to original Most Visited layout, so that if you 'X' something out, it's never permanently gone).

You can't re-arrange it or anything like in Safari/Opera, but it's a start, and it's made a difference for me.

If you want to take a gander at the Dev version of Chrome, take a look at the link in my references. When/if you update the Dev version of Chrome, you can easily revert back by simpling uninstalling, then re-installing Chrome. All of your History, Bookmarks and everything else will be kept in-tact, if you do.

I'm intrigued ...

If you click on the New Tab (the little plus sign next to your last open tab) what do you get ?

If you go to www.google.com/chrome and download the Beta version, this has an option to remove single thumbnails.  The Beta version is in the testing stage but I have found no problems with it.....yet.

Actually you are wrong, the Dev channel is the most up to date testing channel ...

As for the deletion of thumbnails facility, its pretty c***, all it does is replace your deleted thumbnail with something else (which you might not want !!)

Hi all,

We're excited to let you know that the latest update of Google Chrome allows you to remove individual thumbnails from the New Tab page. If you haven't already been updated, you can do so by going to the Tools (wrench) menu, going to About Google Chrome and updating to version 2.0.172.28.

For additional information about this update, feel free to view the reference below.

Enjoy!
Shawn
