The Iraqi govenment has begun to sponser the return of Iraqi refugees, but a group of 100 Iraqi and non-governmental organizations assembled under Refugees International said Iraq is not yet secure enough or capable of handling the returns. Although some security gains had been made in the country, a rushed and premature return process would have disastrous consequences both for the displaced and the stability of Iraq.
