The Latin America Program works throughout the region to promote greater transparency and accountability, strengthen democratic institutions, and ensure international support for open society goals.
2007 Activities
OSI efforts in 2007 included support for a massive public campaign to collect blood samples from families of the disappeared in Latin America.
OSI Grantee Honored for New Media Excellence
April 8, 2009
VerdadAbierta.com, which examines the paramilitary side of Colombia’s long civil war, was awarded the “New Media” prize from the prestigious Círculo de Periodistas de Bogota (Circle of Journalists from Bogotá).
