Refugees International’s work is grounded in human rights conventions that define the rights of displaced people and the international obligations to protect them. Refugees International defends their rights to life; personal liberty; nationality; sanctuary; and work, education and health care.
People forced from their homes by conflict are among the world’s most vulnerable. Common humanity compels us to work for their protection. Moreover, a world without refugees and internally displaced people will be more stable, pose fewer immediate and long-term security threats, and allow far greater numbers of people to enjoy their civil, political, economic, social, and religious rights.
