Programme for long SEK loans at variable interest rate

02/07/2009 The Riksbank announced on 13 February that it would be offering loans in Swedish kronor at longer maturities and at a variable interest rate. Loans against normal collateral will be offered with maturities of 3 and 6 months. Loans with commercial paper as collateral will be offered at maturities of 3, 6 and 12 months.    Read more

Riksbank offers loans at fixed interest rate

02/07/2009 The Executive Board of the Riksbank has decided to offer loans to the banks at a fixed interest rate and with a maturity of 12 months. This should contribute to lower funding costs for the banks and lower interest rates for companies and households.   Read more

Repo rate cut to 0.25 per cent

02/07/2009 The weak development of the economy requires a somewhat more expansionary monetary policy. The Executive Board of the Riksbank has therefore decided to cut the repo rate by 0.25 of a percentage point to 0.25 per cent. The repo rate is expected to remain at this low level over the coming year. At the same time there are several signs that economic activity will improve.   Read more

The Riksbank

Sveriges Riksbank is Sweden’s central bank and a public authority under the Riksdag, the Swedish parliament.  The Riksbank is responsible for conducting monetary policy, the objective of which is to maintain a low and stable level of inflation. The Bank also has the task of ensuring that payments in the economy can be made safely and efficiently.
