Metrobus and Metrorail
The University is served by the G2, D2 and D6 Metrobuses routes. Check the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) website for schedules. The closest Metrorail stops are Rosslyn on the Blue/Orange Line and Dupont Circle on the Red Line. See the GUTS link for information on shuttle service to and from those locations.
SmarTrip
Georgetown employees who use all their Metrochek benefits on Metrorail (including expenses at Metro-operated parking lots) can sign up for a digital SmarTrip card, which allows employees to access their benefit directly at designated machines in Metro stations, rather than having to visit the OTM office. The University can load the Metrochek benefit directly into the card's account via the web, saving time and paperwork. If the card is lost or stolen, the employee must pay for a replacement.
The benefit must be collected from the FareCard machine each month. Amounts not collected from the FareCard machine will be forfeited. Once the amount has been loaded onto the card, the benefit amount can be used at any time. Please see the WMATA site for additional details.
Bicycles
Bicycles ridden on campus must be registered with the Department of Public Safety (DPS) located in Room 116, Village C. Bicycles must be parked in bicycle racks or other spaces or areas designated for their use and must be parked clear of sidewalks, ramps, building entrances and handrails/fences. Bicycles can only be operated along designated "Bike Path" areas. Any bicycle parked in violation of the regulations governing bicycles on the campus will be cited and impounded. A copy of the full set of regulations may be obtained from OTM, located in the P-4 mezzanine mevel of the Southwest Garage.
