The International Herald Tribune takes your online privacy very seriously. Therefore, unless you explicitly state otherwise, or we explicitly state otherwise, any data that we collect as a result of your use of the site remains confidential.

If a user wishes to subscribe to any of our email bulletins, we ask for some basic demographic information. We use this information to learn about what type of person is using our site but we do not share this information with any advertisers or partners. In the future, we may use the demographic information that we gather to send you content that may be of special interest to you; for example, to users who register for our Luxury event email updates we may let you know about an upcoming design event.

Out of respect for the privacy of our users we offer the option to "opt out" of our email updates. If there is a change to one of the services that you are signed-up to, we may send you a service update that it is not possible to opt out of.

Existing/Prospective Advertising Clients –

The client authorizes the International Herald Tribune to collect and store in an electronic form the personal data required for the clients database.

The client agrees to the transfer the client personal data to the United States to be stored and processed by The New York Times in a database gathering all clients and prospects information.

The International Herald Tribune ascertains that the collection and storage of this information will be undertaken in compliance with all applicable French and European Union regulations regarding personal data protection.

The client acknowledges having been informed, in accordance with Articles 38, 39 and 40 of Law 78.17, 06/01/1978, as amended, of the possibility to gain access to their personal information and to make corrections if necessary.

Log files

In almost all cases, when you go to a Web site, servers log your interaction with the site in something called a log file. Standard log files like ours contain basic information like what time what pages were viewed, and the IP address of the visitor. We use this information to analyze trends, administer the site, track users' movements, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. We make no effort to identify IP addresses with individual users and we do not share this information with external third parties.
