Libya's First Two Railway Lines Start To Take Shape.

The first two sections of a planned 3170km railway in Libya are starting to take shape. This ambitious project will plug the missing link in North Africa's rail network and could one day provide rail connections to landlocked countries to the south of Libya.

THE chairman of Libyan Railways Executive Board (REB), Eng Mohammed Abdulssamed Ali, summed up his ambition: "Our aim is to connect Egypt with Tunisia by building 2300km of new railway along the coast.
