RIX Council

The Riksbank has established a RIX Council, which discusses questions regarding the RIX system. This mainly concerns strategic issues such as targets, costs, fees for payment system services, collateral for credit in RIX, regulatory issues and continuity issues.

The Council consists of representatives from each of the four major Swedish banks (SEB, Svenska Handelsbanken, Nordea and Swedbank), Bankgirocentralen, Euroclear Sweden, the Swedish National Debt Office and a foreign-owned bank branch (Danske Bank) as well as a representative of the Swedish Bankers’ Association.

The purpose of the RIX Council is to provide the RIX participants with insight into and opportunities to influence the RIX system. However, the right to make decisions on these issues rests with the Riksbank.

Questions regarding system development, support, service and configuration are managed by the RIX user group, in which all RIX participants take part.

The secretariat of the RIX Council is located at the Riksbank.
